Notes

Welcome to the newly combined Links page for Working With Leather and BDSM Workshop. The links below are all relevant in some way to building it yourself, from leather, metal, or wood. Links back to my own pages at the bottom now reference both WWL and Workshop.

There aren't many DIY BDSM toy sites on the web, but I've found a few valuable ones. I have personally found something about each of the sites below to be worthwhile. YMMV.

Designs and Instructions

Mr. Schitt Head's Pervy Tool Time, an excellent site with a bunch of simple projects, from tack bra to enema kit.

Marcus DragonSlayer's Homepage, with a few furniture projects and images.

Domina's Pages, go find the "Manufacturing" link for a do-it-ourself resource list.

Vampire Gloves, courtesy of Match Stick.

Powerotics.com has a toymaking section among their extensive resources. This is a membership site.

Idea Places

Das Kriminalmseum, my own pictures and text from a visit to this wonderful crime and torture museum in Germany. A good idea source.

FukingMachines.com has the biggest collection of machines, and video of their use, anywhere. This is a membership site.

Leather and Leatherworking Tools

Not long ago, there weren't really good answers to the question "where should I buy leather and leatherworking supplies?" That changed (not that I'm biased or anything!) on June 6, 2002, the day I launched Working With Leather Hardware. I built this site just for you, the small BDSM crafter. Tools and hardware, including specialty pieces like lock posts and locking roller buckles. Pre-cut leather straps in 1" and 2-1/2" widths. Good prices and low minimums.

Many of my pages still reference Tandy... they were the defacto standard answer, but were bought by The Leather Factory. They carry a good selection of tools and hardware, and acceptable (but not great) leather. You must pay $35 a year for their club to get decent prices.

Weaver Leather has a rather high minimum order of $50. If you're buying a side, no problem. Their prices are good, but they are not BDSM-friendly. Good leather.

I used to swear by Siegel's of California, but they left me stranded on a bad shipment after years of good. Perhaps I hold too much of a grudge. Their prices are excellent, but read the descriptions carefully. Look there for leather only. Mention the "BDSM Wholesale Club Special" on your first order if you don't have a reseller number ($25 membership for $10).

For hardware of all sorts, a superb business with unfortunately high minimums is Ohio Travel Bag. Their service is exceptional, and they're the only place I know of to conveniently get locking roller buckles and lock posts at a fair price. Make up a business name.

Woodworking How-to's

Popular Woodworking Magazine, with a few articles and plans on the web.

Woodworker's Journal, a collection of plans and tips.

101 Woodworking Tips, including some good ones ;), organized nicely based on what you want to do.

WoodNet Link Page, a good starting place for web resources.

Cabinet Making Link Page, another good starting place for web resources.

Tools and Supplies

Reid Tool Supply Company, order a thick catalog of interesting industrial supplies, including handles, springs, knobs, bearings, grips, chain accessories...

General Resources

The Frugal Domme, who, as you might guess from the links above, has lots of good stuff.

Uncle Abdul's Electric Play Web Page, the most comprehensive list of electric play resources on the web, including links to shock box schematics.

Shameless Plug

Sartan of Treve, my Site Index, with current links to Homepage, Working With Leather, BDSM Workshop, Orgasm Alley, and Sartan's Workshop.
